Traits are permanent modifiers attached to one unit instance. A unit can hold one trait at a time; a new roll replaces the current trait, while removing a trait does not guarantee that the same unit can recover it. The usual reroll route is the Trait Reroll machine in the Upgrades area of the Lobby. The current community wiki lists the normal cost as 1 Trait Crystal per roll.

This visual Trait List reproduces the 17 names, icons, roll odds, effects and trait-specific pity values shown on the Anime Expeditions Miraheze Traits page. The source revision was last edited on July 19, 2026 and was checked for this guide on July 28, 2026. Those are the reference values for this page, but Anime Expeditions can change after an update. Always compare the result panel in your current server before spending crystals.

Reference snapshot · checked 2026-07-28: the wiki also reports a 0.75% chance for a summoned unit to arrive with a trait, says units obtained from stages cannot arrive with one, and explains that the percentage beside each trait is used after that initial trait check. Exact live behavior after a new update still needs an in-game check.

Complete Trait List at a glance

In the table, a lower SPA value means a shorter interval between attacks. The Miraheze page writes “RNG” for Range on several entries; this guide spells it out as Range. The listed trait odds total 100% because they describe which trait is selected after the game has already passed the initial trait check.

Interactive visual Trait List

Use the filters to compare traits by the problem they solve. “Pity traits” shows the four entries for which the reference page publishes a trait-specific pity. A rare icon is not automatically the right result: a farm unit wants income, a damage-over-time unit can exploit Draconic, and a unit missing a bend may gain more from Range than from a small damage increase.

Unbound trait icon
Unbound
0.1%Pity 1,500Single Placement

Effect: +350% DMG, −5% SPA and +10% Range.

Keep when: this is your intended primary unit and the single-placement restriction fits the team. Recheck the live placement wording before building around it.

Primordial trait icon
Primordial
0.2%Pity 750

Effect: +35% DMG, −15% SPA and +20% Range.

Keep when: a carry needs a broad package rather than one isolated stat. Test whether the added coverage changes placement.

Forsaken trait icon
Forsaken
0.3%Pity 500

Effect: +35% Crit DMG, +35% Crit Chance and +10% Range.

Keep when: the unit benefits from critical hits and can turn the extra range into useful path coverage.

Draconic trait icon
Draconic
0.5%Pity 300

Effect: +20% DMG, +50% DoT Damage and −10% overall cost.

Keep when: the unit applies meaningful damage over time, or the cost reduction lets your route stabilize earlier.

Investor trait icon
Investor
2%Economy

Effect: +25% money-farm income.

Keep when: the unit's job is to generate money. Judge it by cash timing and break-even wave, not personal damage.

Optics trait icon
Optics
3%Range

Effect: +25% Range.

Keep when: another bend or lane segment becomes reachable. Compare the actual attack circle on the target map.

Bolt trait icon
Bolt
4%SPA

Effect: −15% SPA.

Keep when: enemies repeatedly slip through the gap between attacks. Repeat the same wave and upgrade order to verify it.

Precision 2 trait icon
Precision 2
4%Critical

Effect: +20% Crit Chance and +10% Crit Damage.

Keep when: the unit's kit can use critical hits and you want more consistent critical output than Precision 1.

Precision 1 trait icon
Precision 1
6%Critical

Effect: +10% Crit Chance and +5% Crit Damage.

Keep when: critical scaling fits the unit and your reserve is too small to chase a rarer upgrade safely.

Limit Breaker trait icon
Limit Breaker
6%Damage

Effect: +15% DMG.

Keep when: range and attack timing already work, but a repeatable target survives with health remaining.

Range 2 trait icon
Range 2
7%Range

Effect: +10% Range.

Keep when: the expanded attack circle covers an extra bend, spawn area or important part of a boss route.

Speed 2 trait icon
Speed 2
7%SPA

Effect: −10% SPA.

Keep when: the unit needs a shorter attack interval and Bolt is outside your planned crystal budget.

Strength 2 trait icon
Strength 2
7%Damage

Effect: +10% DMG.

Keep when: the unit already reaches the correct targets and simply needs more damage to finish the wave.

Enlightenment trait icon
Enlightenment
9%EXP

Effect: +50% EXP.

Keep when: the copy is being used for progression. It is not a direct combat-stat result, so compare it against your leveling goal.

Range 1 trait icon
Range 1
14.63%Range

Effect: +5% Range.

Keep when: the small increase crosses a meaningful coverage breakpoint and protects your crystal reserve.

Speed 1 trait icon
Speed 1
14.63%SPA

Effect: −5% SPA.

Keep when: even a small timing improvement removes a repeated leak, or you need a safe temporary result.

Strength 1 trait icon
Strength 1
14.64%Damage

Effect: +5% DMG.

Keep when: damage is the proven bottleneck and continuing would put the rest of your reroll plan at risk.

Where and how to reroll a trait

  1. Return to the Lobby and enter the Upgrades area.
  2. Find the Trait Reroll machine and select the exact unit copy you intend to change.
  3. Favorite valuable copies before opening the machine, then verify the portrait, name and form.
  4. Read the current trait, the displayed cost and any pity or confirmation text.
  5. Decide which results count as acceptable, strong and dream outcomes for that unit’s role.
  6. Reroll one result at a time. Stop at your planned outcome or reserve limit.
  7. Reopen the unit card and confirm that the correct copy received the new trait.

The reference page says a trait stays attached until it is replaced or removed. It also reports temporary traits in matches such as Expeditions, but those are separate from the permanent trait on the unit instance. Do not assume that removing a permanent trait is reversible or that evolution preserves it; inspect the current evolution preview first.

How trait pity works

The Miraheze reference explains that Mythic traits can have their own trait-specific pity. When that pity is reached, the next relevant check is replaced by the pitied trait instead of using the normal roll outcome. Its table currently publishes pity for Draconic (300), Forsaken (500), Primordial (750) and Unbound (1,500).

What the public page does not establish clearly is whether pity is stored per account, per unit or per session; whether leaving the menu changes it; and how progress behaves after a major update. Those details require an in-game test. Read the current Trait Reroll interface before assuming that old progress will persist.

Set a reroll stopping rule

Write down three outcomes before you spend:

  • Acceptable: a common trait that fixes the unit’s demonstrated problem.
  • Strong: a higher family result or named trait whose effect clearly fits the role.
  • Dream: a rare result you would enjoy, but will not bankrupt the account chasing.

Keep a minimum crystal reserve for another unit or a future update. Stop at the strong outcome or the reserve line. This avoids replacing a functional trait, missing the dream result and leaving the unit worse. The correct choice depends on the copy: Investor belongs on a farm unit, Enlightenment is for EXP progression, and a combat carry should be judged by damage, timing, coverage and any special kit interaction.

Use Best traits by unit role for a practical matrix covering Crow (Black Fire), Dark Mage (Sovereign), Cursed Immortal (Black Sun), Razorjaw (Hunter), economy units and supports.

Test a trait on a real stage

Choose a repeatable Story act or mode and record the map, difficulty, unit form, potential, equipment and supports. Run once with the current trait, then change only the trait when possible. Keep the position and upgrade order the same.

Compare first leak, wave stabilized, cash spent, boss result and path coverage. If Range reaches another bend, it can outperform a modest damage increase. If lower SPA removes a repeated leak, it may be the correct result even when a tier list ranks a rarer icon higher. For Investor, record when the extra income pays back. For Enlightenment, compare actual progression rather than clear speed.

Protect crystals and valuable units

Reward amounts and shops can change. Check the live modes, quests, codes and stores before following an old crystal farming route. Keep the intended unit favorited and verify its portrait at every confirmation.

Trait Crystal, Stat Reroll, Stat Lock, Equipment Reroll and Equipment Lock are separate items. Read the icon and item name before spending. Do not reroll a base copy moments before evolution unless the live preview confirms how its trait will be handled.

Common Trait List mistakes

  • Treating 0.1%, 0.2% or another reference value as a guarantee in a later game version.
  • Chasing Unbound without accounting for its documented single-placement restriction.
  • Putting Investor on a combat unit or judging a farm unit by personal damage.
  • Replacing a useful result without a crystal reserve or stopping rule.
  • Testing a trait while also changing equipment, support, placement and map.
  • Assuming lower SPA is worse; here, a lower interval means faster attacks.
  • Confusing the initial 0.75% summoned-with-a-trait chance with the per-trait odds.
  • Assuming pity scope, evolution retention or temporary Expedition traits without checking in game.

The reference page lists 1 Trait Crystal for a normal reroll. Confirm the cost shown by your current server before pressing the button.

Can a summoned unit arrive with a trait?

The Miraheze page reports a 0.75% chance for a summoned unit, while units earned from stages cannot arrive with a trait. This is an update-sensitive mechanic.

What is the best trait?

There is no universal answer. Keep the result that fixes the unit’s real bottleneck and fits its job. Rarity is useful context, but role, placement, attack pattern and your remaining crystals determine whether another roll is sensible.

Sources and check date: names, icons, odds, effects, pity, the one-Crystal cost and trait mechanics were checked against the Anime Expeditions community wiki Traits revision 7083 on July 28, 2026. Live values remain subject to the current Anime Expeditions Roblox experience.
