The Physical Archetype marks units that deal Physical Archetype damage. The current Anime Expeditions community Wiki lists 24 separately named Physical units and forms. They are not all melee attackers, they do not share one Element, and the label alone does not reveal range, cost, target pattern or role.
Physical is paired with the Element system. The documented Physical roster includes Neutral, Dark, Flame, Terra, Light, Gale and Farm entries, while The Hero is described as having no Element. Match the exact rule shown by a stage rather than guessing from a character’s appearance.
Physical quick facts
The count treats base and named forms as separate entries, exactly as the reference page presents them.
The Hero uses Hero Blessing to buff Physical units within range. The reference says the effect increases by 5% each upgrade.
Physical does not mean Neutral. Check the Element icon separately when a stage names an elemental weakness or resistance.
Physical does not guarantee close range, single-target damage, cheap placement or boss value. Read the live unit card.
Visual Physical unit list
Each card uses the available local portrait for the base unit. When the reference index lists a named form, the card shows both names rather than pretending the base portrait is evolved art.

How The Hero buffs Physical units
The Hero’s reference page calls it a range-based Physical buffer. Its passive, Hero Blessing, applies a damage buff to all Physical units within range and is listed as increasing by 5% each upgrade. The passive sentence does not state the starting percentage, so do not calculate a maximum total by assuming that Upgrade 0 begins at zero or five.
Position is the practical part of the mechanic. Place The Hero where the Physical carries you want to support fit inside its live radius. Do not move a strong lane holder into a poor angle merely to chase the buff. If the best attack position and the support radius conflict, compare the real clear time with and without the support.
The reference page lists The Hero as having no Element. That makes Archetype and Element especially important to separate: it can support Physical units while not supplying an elemental damage answer of its own. Verify current placement limit, cost, range and whether multiple copies or other damage buffs stack before planning a permanent formation.
Build a Physical team by job
Begin with the stage rule. If it buffs Physical, shortlist units from this page. Then choose an opener that can be placed before leaks begin, a sustained damage unit for the main lane, and an answer for the boss or highest-health enemy. Use Ramen Guy or Stone Alchemist only when the live Farm behavior and run length justify an economy slot.
Next, check Elements. A Physical team can still fail when its damage is concentrated into an Element resisted by the current enemy. The roster spans multiple elements, so replace one redundant carry instead of discarding the entire Archetype plan. Use the Elements index to confirm assignments.
Evolved forms deserve their own check. 8th Sword (Berserk), Cursed Student (True Love), Hollow (Blaze), Lady Giant (Envy), Razorjaw (Hunter) and Reaper (Released) appear as separate entries. Confirm the current form, costs, effect text and target pattern in your inventory. A base portrait on this page is identification help, not a performance claim.
When Physical is the wrong choice
Do not force Physical when the stage explicitly debuffs or resists it. If the interface favors another Archetype, compare your Magical roster and Psychic roster. If no Archetype rule is shown, choose by role, cost curve, lane coverage and enemy mechanics instead of assuming one label has a hidden advantage.
A Physical buff also does not rescue a unit that arrives too late. Test the first deployment wave, the upgrade where the unit becomes reliable, and the point where a boss is defeated. Keep the stage, trait, equipment and party conditions the same between tests.
Physical mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Physical means melee or short range.
- Assuming every Physical unit is Neutral.
- Inventing a starting Hero Blessing value that the reference passive does not state.
- Placing The Hero where its radius misses the carry you intended to buff.
- Counting a base form and named form as identical units.
- Ignoring an explicit elemental resistance while following an Archetype buff.
- Using a Farm entry without checking whether the run lasts long enough to repay the slot.
Physical FAQ
How many Physical units are documented?
The checked Physical index lists 24 names and forms. They form 18 portrait groups in the local assets because six named forms do not have separate verified local art.
What unit buffs Physical teams?
The Hero is the dedicated range-based Physical buffer documented by the reference Wiki. Hero Blessing affects Physical units in range and is listed as increasing by 5% each upgrade.
Is Physical better than Magical?
The reference pages do not publish a permanent advantage between them. Use the current stage buff, debuff, weakness or resistance and compare units that fill the same job.
Does The Hero have an Element?
Its checked reference page says it has no Element. Confirm the current live card after balance or data updates.
