Anime Expeditions is not a single endless lane. The official Roblox description confirms that the game combines summoning and unit growth with multiple Expeditions, game modes, enemy waves, bosses and co-op play. The practical route is to use Story to open your account, Challenges and Mastery to target upgrade needs, Expeditions to build a long-term side economy, and Raids or live events when your roster can handle their mechanics. Do not choose a mode only because its reward screen looks valuable: choose the one that removes your current progression bottleneck.

Verification status: The core multi-mode loop is Official. Menu routes and currently documented mode behavior below are Community corroborated where two current guides agree. Exact unlocks, rotations, drops and reward quantities remain Needs in-game testing and were last checked against public information on 2026-07-28.

Visual gameplay directory

Use these cards like the grouped directory on the community Wiki: choose a mode first, open its visual inner page, then select the map, Act, reward set or competitive format you intend to play.

Pick a mode by the result you need

Use this finder before entering a queue. A first clear, a repeat farm and a competitive score are different jobs, so the same team and spending plan will not fit all three.

A sensible progression route

Start in Story on the first available difficulty and learn each map before chasing a perfect clear. Watch where the first leaks occur, where paths overlap and when the boss reaches your main damage zone. Once you can clear reliably, return for any separate difficulty or star rewards shown in the live stage panel. Current beginner guides agree that Story is the account foundation, but reward amounts and star conditions can change, so the stage UI is the authority.

Challenges are a detour, not a replacement for Story. Open the current challenge, read its modifier and decide whether the listed item solves a real problem. A challenge that rewards reroll material is valuable when you already have a keeper unit; it is less valuable if your immediate wall is simply an under-leveled roster. Mastery follows the same rule: select it for a named unit or equipment objective, not because it is another button to clear.

Current independent guides consistently place Expeditions around account level 20 and Raids around level 25. Treat those milestones as Community corroborated, then confirm the exact lock in your live Areas menu. When the lock opens, do not abandon Story automatically. Add the new mode to your loop only when its currencies, equipment or permanent systems advance the unit you are building.

Story, maps and difficulty choices

The public asset set and current community references document maps including School Grounds, Flower Forest, King’s Tomb, Rose Kingdom and Fairy King Forest. That is a currently documented map set, not a promise that the list is complete or that every map is open in every patch. Use the Areas or Story selector to see the order on your account.

Record the failure point

Note the wave, enemy modifier and missing team role. That evidence tells you whether to level, evolve, change placement or switch modes.

Route learningPlayer action

On every new map, place early coverage where it can see more than one stretch of path, then reserve enough income for your boss answer. Do not scatter upgrades evenly just to make every placed unit look finished. One dependable damage core, an opener and the utility demanded by the stage usually reveal more than six half-built placements.

Challenges and Mastery without wasted runs

Before a Challenge, read the modifier as if it were a team-building rule. Resistance, immunity, speed, shields, summons or placement limits can invalidate a unit that dominates ordinary Story. Bring an alternative damage type or utility option rather than forcing the same preset into every rotation. After the run, compare the displayed reward with the resource you spent; a clear can still be inefficient if it delays the upgrade you actually need.

For Mastery, choose one keeper unit and define the finish line before farming. It might be a displayed equipment piece, a unit objective or enough experience for the next unlock. Check the live stage panel for pity and drop language before starting, because public guides disagree on exact rates. Leave once the goal is complete instead of continuing from habit, then apply the upgrade and test it on the stage that originally blocked you.

Expeditions, Raids and the co-op handoff

Expeditions change the decision loop by adding a payload, generated route nodes, temporary Anvil upgrades and persistent buildings or research. The mode rewards planning across an entire run. Read the detailed Expeditions guide before buying Anvils or spending its permanent currencies.

Raids are closer to high-pressure staged battles. Spirit City is the currently documented raid map, with separate acts, bosses, modifiers and raid-linked shops. A strong Story team may still fail if it relies on crowd control that a boss ignores or lacks sustained single-target damage. Use the Raids guide to prepare roles and a shop plan before matchmaking.

Co-op helps most when players divide jobs rather than duplicate them. Agree on who opens the lane, who supplies economy, who covers groups and who saves upgrades for the boss. If the lobby cannot coordinate, play the highest act you can clear consistently instead of gambling the whole session on the deepest unlocked act.

Tournaments, Villain Invasion and AFK status

Tournament formats are update-sensitive. Public guides describe solo, duo and global formats with different scoring goals, but the live board decides the active bracket, team-lock behavior, timer and rewards. Take a screenshot of those rules before submitting a serious attempt. A damage-scored run rewards different decisions from a waves-cleared run, and a Traitless modifier can overturn a normal ranking.

Villain Invasion is a current event theme confirmed by the developer’s official video. Community coverage documents four acts with escalating mechanics. Enter through the Events panel and read the detailed Villain Invasion guide before spending event currency. Confirm the remaining time, current reward eligibility and any Crow Relic requirement in game; none should be treated as permanent.

AFK and passive systems should fill gaps, not dictate your active route. Before logging out, inspect the live cap and assign any required unit. Claim when you return, then direct the resource to the same keeper unit or account milestone you were already pursuing. Public pages use several names for passive systems, so this hub does not claim one universal AFK menu path until it is confirmed in the current build.

Mode-selection mistakes to avoid

  • Do not farm a reward because an old screenshot says it drops. Read the current stage panel first.
  • Do not unlock a harder difficulty and immediately abandon a reliable lower clear. A failed run can be worth less than a consistent one.
  • Do not enter a modifier-heavy stage without a second damage pattern or support option.
  • Do not spend Raid, Expedition or event currency before opening the full current shop.
  • Do not call a public drop table complete when the game can add maps, acts or rotations without changing old pages.
  • Do not judge a co-op team only by rarity. Clear roles, placement and upgrade timing decide whether the roster works.

Modes FAQ

What should a new player play first?

Begin with Story and the onboarding objectives shown in the Events panel. Add Challenges when the reward matches a current need. Expeditions and Raids become useful after their live account-level locks open.

Should I farm Story or Expeditions?

Use Story for progression, first clears and map learning. Use Expeditions when you need its payload loop, buildings, research or crafting resources. If a feature is locked, Story and quests remain the clean route forward.

Are Raids solo content?

Current guides show solo and matchmaking options, but the later Spirit City acts are designed around demanding mechanics. Solo can be useful for practice; a coordinated squad is safer when several roles are required.

Is Villain Invasion permanent?

Treat it as a live event. The official video confirms the theme, while its end time and reward rules must be checked inside the current Events panel.

Where are exact drops and probabilities?

They are intentionally not fixed on this overview. Open the live stage or shop panel, then use the relevant mode guide for route and decision help. Exact probabilities remain Needs in-game testing.
