Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) is a named form included in current Anime Expeditions community ranking coverage. Public discussion makes it a reasonable damage candidate to investigate, but it does not establish permanent stats, exact effects, obtainment or an evolution recipe. This guide keeps the useful decision process and leaves unstable values to the live unit panel.

Community corroborated: the Black Sun form name and its place among current recommended units.
Needs in-game verification: rarity, element, archetype, source, recipe, costs, stats, effects and placement rules. Checked July 28, 2026.
Confirm Black Sun before you commit resources
Select Cursed Immortal in the Units menu and read the complete form name. If you own only the base form, open the Evolution interface through the route shown by the current lobby and verify that Black Sun is the previewed result. Favorite the intended copy and remove equipment only if the UI requires it.
Read the entire preview: materials, quantities, Gold cost, unit level or other prerequisites, and what happens to trait and stat potential. These fields are intentionally not guessed here. If the preview is unavailable, stop farming a remembered recipe and check whether the form is currently obtainable.
Identify the real combat role
Use a familiar stage and place the unit where its live range covers a long path segment. Watch the attack pattern through each upgrade instead of buying everything immediately. Determine whether Black Sun contributes broad wave damage, focused damage, a damage-over-time effect or another mechanic stated in the panel.
The form name is not evidence of burn, darkness, debuff or any specific interaction. Read the skill text. If the unit applies an effect, check whether it stacks, refreshes, has a target cap or is resisted by important enemies. Those rules can change between updates.
Keep a cheap opener and delay Black Sun. A carry cannot help a board that leaks before it can be placed.
Preserve Black Sun for lane work and add a concentrated boss answer rather than forcing every upgrade into one unit.
Check target priority, enemy immunity, range coverage and the live effect text before changing traits.
Stop at the first useful breakpoint and fund the rest of the team. Compare total clear consistency, not maximum level.
Choose traits from observed problems
Run the unit without rerolls first. Range is only useful when it adds meaningful lane coverage. Speed is only useful when attack timing is the bottleneck. Strength is easier to evaluate once coverage and timing are stable. Named rare traits may combine effects, but their current values and restrictions need the live trait panel.
Do not spend every Trait Crystal pursuing a ranking screenshot. Keep enough resources for other proven carries and future balance changes. The best traits by unit role guide gives a stopping rule for rerolls.
For equipment, filter to compatible pieces and compare one at a time. A cursed-looking item such as Cursed Finger, Accursed Equipment or Calamity’s Eye may or may not fit this unit; names and art are not compatibility data. The equipment guide shows how to record a fair before-and-after result.
Team construction
Start with one opener, Black Sun as the candidate carry, one answer to the enemy profile it handles poorly, and one support or economy slot when the mode rewards it. Avoid loading several expensive evolved units that all need the same first upgrades. Their theoretical ceiling will not matter if the team cannot stabilize.
Place complementary units so their strongest coverage overlaps the difficult section without wasting all damage at the entrance. Set target priorities only after watching which enemies escape. In multiplayer, coordinate who funds early defense and who saves for the carry; current shared placement and economy rules must be checked inside the selected mode.
A controlled comparison run
Pick a stage you can repeat. Record difficulty, map, modifiers, party size, trait and equipment. Complete one run with your established carry and one with Black Sun in the same role. Keep support and upgrade timing similar.
Compare the first leak, cash spent before stability, wave-clear consistency and boss result. If Black Sun wins only after receiving a rarer trait or stronger equipment, that is an account-build difference rather than a clean unit comparison. Repeat the test after any update that changes the unit or mode.
Mistakes that waste progress
- Assuming an external recipe is current without opening the Evolution preview.
- Evolving an unlocked or wrong-potential copy.
- Inferring an effect from “Black Sun” instead of reading live text.
- Using a high community rank as proof the unit fits every mode.
- Rerolling before identifying whether range, timing or output causes the failure.
- Equipping a cursed-themed item without confirming compatibility.
- Removing the opener to make room for another expensive form.
Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) FAQ
Is Black Sun currently obtainable?
The form is currently documented, but its live availability and route need in-game verification. Check the unit, Summon and Evolution interfaces in your server.
What is the exact evolution recipe?
No exact recipe is asserted here because the current panel was not directly verified. Follow the live preview; do not consume materials based on an undated list.
Is Black Sun better than Crow (Black Fire)?
That depends on stage, effects, cost curve, owned traits and role. Compare both under identical conditions. The Units Dex explains a repeatable test.
Which mode should I use it in?
Start with a repeatable stage where you can afford its useful breakpoint and observe both waves and a boss. Then test the actual target mode. No universal mode assignment is claimed without live stats and effect rules.
