If it takes too long to deploy, pair it with a cheap opener. If it stabilizes ordinary waves but loses to the boss, add a dedicated finisher. If it has broad coverage but attacks slowly, choose placement where each attack reaches a long bend and consider speed only after confirming that timing is the real problem.
Give Sovereign the best lane coverage, fund its important breakpoint and build cheaper roles around it.
Stop at an efficient upgrade, then spend on the unit that answers bosses or a different enemy profile.
Confirm the live duration, target rules and immunity interactions. Do not infer them from animation alone.
